Our Story — Built on Strategy, Not Guesswork
The story behind the name “1-FIND” is one of serendipity and strategic foresight. During my 11-year stay in Japan, I ventured into the web hosting business, offering web space to Japanese clients on servers based in the US. In my quest to expand, I registered on numerous web hosting directories to gain visibility. One such directory, 1-find.com, was a top-ranking site for web hosting keywords.
One day, I noticed that 1-find.com was down. I kept an eye on it, and when it became available, I seized the opportunity and registered the domain. I redirected it to my web hosting business, which significantly boosted my growth. This strategic move played a crucial role in my business’s success.
Before returning to the United States, I sold the web hosting business but held onto the 1-find.com domain. When I launched my digital marketing company, I named it 1-FIND to honor this pivotal moment in my entrepreneurial journey. This name not only reflects a key milestone but also symbolizes the essence of finding and seizing opportunities, which is at the heart of our approach at 1-FIND.

Casey Carmical
FounderBefore building 1-FIND, Casey spent over a decade in Japan, including a post at Nagano City Hall through the JET Programme and years of corporate translation work in Tokyo. He holds a JLPT N1 certification, ProZ.com Certified PRO status, and was named Translator of the Year by WIP Japan. He earned his degree in Japanese and World Business from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
That background built habits that still run the agency: precision, accountability, and no tolerance for work that can't be verified. When Casey returned to East Tennessee, he brought the same standard with him. Casey lives in the Tri-Cities with his wife and children, and 1-FIND SERVICES was built to serve the businesses in the region he calls home.
Erik Haagensen
Customer Success AdvisorHe started in sales and technical presales at a string of early-stage enterprise software startups, all of which reached successful exits. From there he became a serial entrepreneur, founding a handful of small businesses that grew fast: a for-profit community art center, an organic egg farm, real estate development, pottery manufacturing, and an online marketing and web development consultancy.
Outside the office, he makes art and music, remodels old houses, and tinkers with home networking.
